Memories

Spring lingers silently underneath the frozen earth; the world suspended in darkness with the disappearance of the sun; flowerbeds have a blanket of snow.

A few birds thinking kinder of Nature enjoys winter’s cold wrath; passing the days and nights sleeping or singing.

The Red Fox upon sprinted legs rises above the marsh grasses in pursuit of a rabbit, like a game back and forth; then it disappears into the nearby woods, no doubt with a feast.

New seasons make new memories while the forgetfulness of past seasons returns to be cherished and loved.

Yes, I live next to a marsh…I must at times guard my little dog against the creatures that come from it. E
